Turkish Airlines Celebrates Arrival of 500th Aircraft
The ceremony on Thursday at Istanbul Airport brought together executives, staff members, aviation industry leaders, and children of martyrs from all 81 provinces of Türkiye.
During the event, a promotional video for the Airbus A350 aircraft, named TK Aile—which translates to "family" in the Turkish language—and bearing the tail registration C-LHH, was presented.
The airline’s chairman, Ahmet Bolat, remarked that the 500th airplane represented "93 years of effort, determination, and common wisdom."
Bolat expressed pride in connecting 356 destinations across six continents with over 500 aircraft, reflecting on the airline’s growth from a modest fleet of 65 planes in 2003.
He highlighted that the 500th aircraft signified the start of the "second 500" phase rather than an ultimate milestone.
The chairman also underlined the airline’s resolve to transform Türkiye into a global aviation hub, aiming to achieve a fleet of 1,000 airplanes by 2036.
